God is always forming and deepening our faith. In these ministries, we seek to grow in our Biblical knowledge, Lutheran identity, and general understanding of the ways God is at work in our lives.

Staff Contact: Dave Wegner
Pastor, Director of Faith Formation

Sunday Morning Education

Coordinated by Pastor Dave Wegner

During the Fall and Spring, these curriculum-based opportunities are available for all age groups (including adults) and cover a broad range of topics.

Children’s Ministry

Led by Barb Newcomer,Children’s Director and Jessica Trimmer

The children in 5th grade and below require imaginative and engaging programs which plant the seeds of faith. We seek parents and other interested individuals who want to help plant those seeds.

Seeds of Faith

Led by Jennifer Haugland & Gordon Keehn

To provide opportunities and resources that enrich and nurture faith for members of all ages and to encourage faith sharing and traditions at home through Sunday Morning Education, intergenerational events, and liturgically seasonal events.

Confirmation

Coordinated by Pastor Dave Wegner

Our confirmation ministry engages our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their families in small groups, classes, retreats, service projects and fellowship events to assist them in fulfilling their baptismal promises.

Youth Ministry

Led by Kate Greengrove & Jacob Montgomery

By keeping youth actively engaged in as many aspects of the church as possible, there is a stronger likelihood that those youth will remain in the church as adults. We work to develop programs that recognize, respect, and affirm the importance of young Christians at Good Shepherd so that we can draw them in to actively participate in as much of the life of the church as possible.
